Comfort Food

After a very long, stressful and tiring week at work, I was so happy to know I had survived to Friday night! Ed was working so I was in for an evening alone with the kids. Maddie called me at work in the late afternoon to ask if we could go see my parents, Denice and Eisley when I got home. Turned out, Megan was going to be there with her two little ones as well. I got the kids from our house, stopped at the grocery store for a loaf of bread and drove to the house I grew up in for an evening of baby loves and grilled sandwiches. Mom kept apologizing for not serving up anything fancy but there are times when there is nothing better than the simplicity of making a toddler laugh, snuggling with a sweet baby girl and eating a grilled cheese sandwich in what was my home for the first 20 years of my life. It was the perfect way to wind down. I love seeing my kids with their little cousins. Asher would get upset whenever he couldn't see "his Livi" and Eisley was so happy to have them there to play with her. Asher wanted a juice box when he saw my kids with theirs but he didn't know how to use a straw. He was so excited when he figured it out. He would squeal and cheer after each swallow!

I had to break out the camera when Grandma was holding the two babies and all of the kids were being sweet to each other, despite the late hour and being up past bedtime.

Senya was smiley until the camera came out! Little Eisley was hamming it up for Olivia. She looks so much like her mama did when she was this size!Grandma kisses for Miss Senya.
Sweet Eisley was snuggly with Maddie.

Sleepy boy Asher was getting a little jealous when he saw the girls getting all of the attention from his Grandma!
Sunshiney girl, telling her story to Olivia. Liv would echo the baby chatter and it thrilled Eisley to think that her big cousin was speaking her language! They had an ongoing conversation of "rah rah rah rahs" - none of us knew what she was saying, but she sure did!Little gangsta boy ... bundled up and ready to head out to the car. He started to fuss when his mom walked out to get the car warmed up so Denice asked him, "Whatsa matter, 'lil Thug, someone scratch your Caddie?" He didn't find that so amusing.
Two of the cutest little girls in the world.

Needed a Change

I have worn different variations of the same hairstyle for the past 8 years. I took Harrison for a haircut yesterday and ended up signing myself in as well. Feeling ready for something remarkably different, I had the stylist do a conservative A-line bob. Ed was shocked when he got home from work. Olivia loves it - she keeps playing with my hair. It feels much lighter. It does require a bit more effort when styling but it's nice to have something different.
