My Westminster Forum 15 Year Reunion

The years have flown by and last night I had the great pleasure of spending the evening at my 15 Year Westminster College Reunion with some of my fellow Forum staff members and my advisor/Dept. Head Dr. Fred Fogo. I hadn't been back on campus in more than 10 years so it was my first visit to the new Alumni House. It was wonderful to reconnect with friends and reminisce about the old college experiences.

Heather used to keep me laughing through our long hours in the Forum office as we worked to get the newspaper pulled together and she had me laughing again last night.

Fred played a pivotal role in my college experience. He was head of the Communications Department, my advisor and taught many of my core classes. He is an amazing conversationalist with an easy-going manner that suited my learning style perfectly. We also share a love of the Beatles. As I walked in to the Alumni House, he immediately recognized me and greeted me by name which was heart warming. He brought stacks of old newspapers for us to peruse as we all caught up. It was wonderful to see him again.

Dakota turns 14!

Dakota turned 14 years-old last weekend. We celebrated with the Nelsons last Sunday. Dakota didn't want to hold still for the camera but I was able to sneak in a couple of shots! My buddy Sawyer was more willing to pose for me!

Cake!

Asher is a funny kid - he doesn't put things in his mouth and he doesn't like to have messy hands. He was a little confused when we all sang to him and wasn't sure of what to do with the cake. Megan helped him to get a little bit of the topping in to his mouth but he fell apart when she tried to put his hands in the cake. All was well as soon as he was cleaned off and got a drink from his bottle. Happy Birthday Asher! We love you!

Presents!

Asher loved the paper and bows. He got darling clothes and toys. He loved the stuffed duck from his great-grandpa. Megan tried to get him to model the sunglasses that came with his swimming set from Michelle and Derek but he wasn't having any of that! He loved watching Cody bounce the ball off of his head.

Asher's First Birthday Party

Megan and Cody hosted a First Birthday Party for Asher this afternoon at Mountain Mike's Pizza. Asher was very somber upon our arrival because he didn't get his full morning nap but he perked up throughout the day. Both sides of the family were there to celebrate.

Tagged - 6 of 6

Melissa tagged me ... go to the 6th folder in your photos and post the 6th photo - then blog about it.
This is from the Coldplay concert in November 2008. I bought the tickets in a special pre-sale and when I put in the option for the computer to auto choose the best seats possible, it kept selecting seats in the back corner section. I was a little irritated that those were the best seats possible when the tickets weren't even in general release yet but I just wanted to see them live so I went with it. Fast forward to the concert and mid-way through, the band came in to the audience to play a couple of songs just rows away from us. It was an incredible experience.
