Real Salt Lake

We were given front row tickets to last night's Salt Lake Real game. It was our first chance to attend a game in their new stadium. It was fun but awfully cold! Maddie was gone to a sleep over so Ed and I had a fun night out with Olivia and Harrison. Harrison spent more time playing on his D.S. than watching the game! Olivia was crazy enough to eat ice cream. Real played a fabulous game, setting a new team record of scoring 6 goals in one game! They won 6-0.

Baby Showers

My sister Denice flew in from Spokane for a weekend of baby shower festivities. We hosted baby showers yesterday for her friends and family. Denice got some beautiful gifts for little Eisley Harper. I got photos of her opening the quilt that I made for her and the fleece blanket that Olivia and Maddie made for their new cousin.

Belly bump - my two youngest sisters are both expecting. Denice and Megan compared bellies and got some photos for the future cousins to see when they are older.

Harrison's birthday dinner

Harrison wanted ribs for his birthday dinner. We delayed going out until our week in St. George. We went to the Outback and enjoyed a yummy dinner and dessert. Harrison enjoyed his fill of ribs and ice cream, perfectly suited for his 8 year-old appetite!
The girls had fun with their little brother - they rolled him up in a quilt and made a Harrison burrito.

Swimming

Sherrill and Bud were sweet and let us use their house in St. George during our stay so we had a kitchen and some privacy. Their community pool was perfect for the kids. Ed took them swimming Monday while I was at work. I finished work early enough on Tuesday to get to go swimming with them in the afternoon. It was wonderful to enjoy some sun instead of being holed up in a grocery store!

Snow Canyon

Ed took the kids exploring in Snow Canyon. They did a short hike through the lava flow areas and climbed through a cave. Having come from Salt Lake with rain and snow, the kids complained that it was "hot" - the temperature was in the mid-70s!

Dinner with Cousins

I had to work in St. George this past week so Ed and the kids tagged along and made a mini-vacation of it. We took advantage of the time to meet up with Kurt, Michelle and their family. They were wonderful hosts who invited us to their home for dinner Monday night. They have a beautiful, comfortable home with a fabulous backyard and patio. I would live on their back patio area. The kids quickly warmed up to each other and we had to drag our kids out at the end of the night so theirs could get to bed since they had school the next morning!
Beautiful, funny 4 year-old Charlie just cracked me up.

Our Running Man

Ed participated in the Salt Lake Marathon last Saturday, April 18, by running in the half-marathon. He beat his goal time, finishing in 1 hour 45 minutes. The kids and I waited near the finish line in the Gateway Center and cheered him on as he sprinted to the end. His sister Mary was a race volunteer so he got to see her in the finishers tent. Her son Josh and husband Scott ran the 5k and daughter Bethany participated in the kids 1 mile race.

Ed had the entire day off so we hurried home because Maddie had a soccer game at noon. Rowdies continue to play strong and won their game. Ed felt good enough to go out with me that night and we saw "State of Play" - a good movie in the vein of "All the President's Men". We both liked it.

Birthday Boys

Happy Birthday to two of my favorite guys in the whole world ... Dad turns 68 tomorrow and Harrison is 8 years-old today. Happy Birthday boys!

Harrison Turns 8!

Happy birthday to my baby. Harrison is 8 today. He didn't give us very many gift suggestions so he was absolutely thrilled with everything he got. Grandma and Grandpa gave him a couple of Power Miner Lego sets. Rachel gave him Pokemon cards and the new Pokemon Platinum game for the DS. We gave him Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Wii and the main Power Miner Lego set. He is such a funny, sensitive kid. Happy birthday Harrison - I hope all of your wishes for this year come true.

Easter Egg Hunt 2009

Keira was thrilled with her "moneys" eggs - Creighton was hilarious because he was so excited over every egg that he opened - and Harrison was diligent in sorting anything with caramel from his stash because he isn't supposed to eat it. Asher picked up some good loot for Cody and the bigger kids were great about sharing with the younger cousins.

Easter Fun

Dying eggs - it was about 10:00 p.m. by the time the eggs were boiled and ready to color so the kids were a little punchy! I got several different egg dye kits from work so the kids each did their own thing. Harrison did space eggs, Olivia did tye-dyed and Maddie did some chalk art eggs.

The bunny came!
